All creatures revived on the day of Awakening of Insects. In the morning of March 5, the 2020 Cixi Major Projects Commencement Event was held at the site of the TIPark (Ningbo) Project. Gao Qingfeng, Secretary of CPC Municipal Committee of Cixi, announced the commencement of construction. Sheng You, Deputy Secretary of CPC Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor of Cixi, delivered a speech. Sun Bainan, Director of the Standing Committee of the Cixi Municipal People’s Congress, Chen Jiefeng, Secretary of Cixi Municipal CPPCC, and Yang Lideng, Director of Innovation Center of Hangzhou Bay in Cixi City, attended the event. TIPark (Ningbo) is one of key science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship projects in Cixi. General Manager Sun Shixi, being confident about the prospect of the project, said that as Spring comes as usual, economic recovery will come after we win the battle against COVID-19. With the support of relevant municipal government departments, THTI had made work resumption preparation at the earliest time possible, so that the project can be smoothly started. “This event serves as a bugle call in commencing this year’s projects.” said Sun, THTI is confident about winning the battle against COVID-19, and will take targeted measures to ensure the victory over the outbreak and the smooth construction of the project, with a view to contributing to the socio-economic development.

Secretary Gao said, “THTI should prepare a high-standard plan and accelerate the construction of the TIPark (Ningbo) Project, so that the project can serve as a model in Ningbo’s efforts to pursue science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship. We should make full use of Tsinghua’s resources in our major industries!”

Introduction to the Project

TIPark (Ningbo)

TIPark (Ningbo) is THTI’s science and technology innovation base in Ningbo’s Qianwan New District. THTI is a member of the technological innovation platform of Tsinghua Holdings Co., Ltd. The base occupies an area of 116 mu, and its total building area is about 180,000 m². The project plans to build a chain of science and technology park products, including high end enterprise headquarters office, technology business incubator, MIE space and innovation and entrepreneurship community. THTI strives to build the base into a preferred destination for business offices in the Hangzhou Bay innovation economic area, a cluster of hi-tech industries and talents, a source of innovators and entrepreneurs and a base of industry-university-research institution cooperation.

Upon completion, the project will focus on attracting dominant and key emerging industries in Cixi, such as intelligent manufacturing, electronic information, new energy, new materials, Internet, entrepreneurial services, intelligent medicine, intelligent robots and optoelectronic chips. THTI will introduce Tsinghua’s specific industrial resources to turn the project into a high-tech business incubator featuring complete hardware facilities and robust service system, with a view to fostering a large number of high-growth enterprises.
